Creating is a way of life with me. My joy is to share
my art and to entertain through my work. It varies from simple,
peaceful and Zen-like to whimsical, wild and
silly and
can be found in New York, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Detroit and areas
in between in galleries,
shops, homes and playrooms.
Before moving to the Midwest I worked as a muralist
in New York City. At first my work was painting wall murals for children.
It was fun to let my inner child out to play in a
world full of animals and other creatures interacting with each
other and nature
in
unexpected
ways.
As time went on I was asked to create more mature pieces
and I discovered the joy of exploring more 'serious' subjects.
By definition, a mural is a
painting
on a wall, but in New York you never know what lies within those
walls -- and when it may start to leak out of them! Because of this
I started creating canvas murals that could
be adhered to (and later removed from) a wall and silk paintings
to hang on a wall and window shades to
cover the view
(or lack thereof). The benefit of this is that all these paintings
can be moved or changed for the sake of variety
from time to time.
Here you will see paintings and drawings of all sizes and types:
country and city, nature and abstract, pets and homes. Whether
6" x 4" 'desk' portrait of a beloved pet, a hushed city snow scene,
or an entire wall of sea life and pirate adventure -- I love doing
them all.
